Birgitta Illyés was born in 1952 in Helsingborg, where she also partly grew up. Already as a child, Birgitta wrote poems and stories. The joy of writing has followed her through the years.
Birgitta worked primarily as a chief secretary during her daughters' upbringing. In mid-life, she trained as a primary school teacher and has periodically worked in international environments in both of her professions.
A genuine interest in food and wine led to a membership in Munskänkarna in the early 90s. Travel, people, and environments, together with life's other experiences, are her great source of inspiration. Today, Birgitta lives with her husband in Båstad, where they enjoy being close to their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Birgitta's short story "JÄTTEN" is one of the winning entries in Write Together 2021. In the spring of 2020, she debuted with the relationship/suspense novel "Släktstorm" (Ekström & Garay).
